So, I took a look back at my old Sonic Unleashed PS3/360 HUD. While certainly an improvement over the original version all the way back in February 2015, it was a little too simplistic, and the Werehog and Tornado Defense HUDs were too complex for their own good. So I thought now was a good enough time to give it another revamp.
It certainly is a true beaut now, isn't it? A lot of shading edits were done to make it look far more presentable than before. In addition, the Werehog and Tornado Defense HUDs were massively simplified to be far more accessable.
I even added the Super Sonic and Gaia Colossus HUDs from the final boss fight. It doesn't look too bad, actually. (though I do still have to wonder in what universe does Super Sonic require health?)
Above I compared all three versions of my Unleashed HUDs. Left is February 2015 and December 2015; right is November 2017. Improvements are always more obvious when comparing old and new side by side -- and I feel the same is true here. Look at how much of a difference two-to-three years can make!
It doesn't stop there -- I even made a mock-up utilizing the Werehog HUDs. While it's nothing much, it's at least interesting to behold. Sadly, there are no good sprites of the Dark Gaia enemies, but I suppose there's not really a lot I can do about that subject.
Well, I've done everything I wanted to do for now. Who knows what I'll make after this? We'll see...
